I am awaiting, none too patiently, the arrival of the inaugural copy of Why We Fly the Rainbow (which is already available on amazon). I don't know that I have any right to have been so impatient for something that I myself was creating, but I have been waiting to hold this book in my hands since its conception in the summer of 2016.
It won't be much more of a wait, in the grand scheme of things. But somehow, I feel more impatient now than I did three years ago, when I first attempted to explain the meaning of our Pride flag to a curious toddler, who just had to know why.
Not long now, I tell myself. Not long now.
